"Meatball" - A former Lesson horse in our program - Now loving the good life in Hawaii as a team roping horse! Congrats to the new owners!"Instruction begins when you arrive! During the process, you will learn how to catch, lead, groom and tack your horse up for your lesson. Once the horse is ready - we move to either arena, where you will learn the basics of mounting and of course RIDING your horse. The riding portion of the lesson is an hour - all completed at your own comfort level and riding ability.
This class is designed specifically for "Friends & Family". Want to learn how to ride with a loved one or friend? We can accomodate your request.
The Semi-Private lesson is very much like the private lesson, however you are allowed to ride with one of your friend's or family memembers. By doing so, you can share the fun and create wonderful memories together. In this class, you will be taught horsemanship and riding skills that match each person's level of ability and comfort zone.
The Horsemanship class is designed for the "New Horse Owner" or for someone that is interested in learning what is involved in becoming a new horse owner. This is a great class for that child that wants a horse - It gives you a good idea of what is involved in being a knowledgeable horse owner.
The class is approximately 4 hours long and covers the basic necessary horse ownership knowledge that is required to be a confident and responsible horse owner. Topics that are included:
Basic Health & Conditioning Maintenance (Hoof maintenance, general health care & requirements, Body parts & Conformation)
Tack/Equipment Requirements (Grooming & Riding Equipment)
Basic Ground Control (Leading, grooming, tacking, tying, bathing)
Basic Riding Instruction (Mounting, Forward Motion in all 3 gaits (only if desired), Stopping, and Turning)
We're always taking names of children that are wanting to sign up for the spring and summer Horsemanship Day Camps. It is a 5-hour 5-day program that covers the Horsemanship class noted above - but for 5 days! During the program, the children will be taught and have hands on experience with all of the daily horse care, horsemanship, and basic riding skills, all designed to be age-appropriate and presented in a fun and relaxing environment - with the occasional WATER FIGHT to help beat the heat!
Need to sell your horse? We have a program where you horse is boarded at our facility - exercised consistantly and introduced to people looking to buy a horse. Remember - Honesty is our policy. If you horse has any bad habbits or health issues - they will be identified and disclosed to any potential buyer. Our goal is to match the RIGHT horse with the RIGHT owner. We strongly feel that there is a person for EVERY horse - just because it isn't suited for you, we can probably find someone that it does fit.
We always have horses for sale at our ranch. We specialize in family pleasure horses - safe, healthy and ready to be enjoyed by nearly everyone. Because we like to keep our lesson horses fresh and rotated, we like to place them in permanent homes after a period of serving in the program. By doing so, our clients are able to continually ride the horse that they believe fits them to ensure that the right match has been made.
In addition to the family horses, we frequently have horses that would be suitable for barrel racing and working cow horse/reining/ penning and sorting prospects.
"BLUE" Former horse from our program - Congrats to Michael Feinberg on your purchase! We will miss him more than anyone knows! Look for Blue in the penning and sorting arenas down south!
